About Our Band
The 6th grade beginner band program is the first step on our musical journey together. It is an opportunity to discover the joy of music in addition to learning and building many life-long skills like: responsibility, self-esteem and team work. Our beginner classes are divided into like-instrument groups to ensure student success and to give more one-on-one instruction. The beginner band curriculum prepares our members to be musically successful as they continue through the band program.
The Lake Belton Middle School Band program is made up of four separate performing groups: the Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Concert Band, and the Beginner Band. We also offer a secondary band class to advanced players – our Jazz Band. All four groups are designed to build on and enhance the musical skills learned in 6th grade to real performance situations.
Yearly performance opportunities: pep rallies, one high school halftime performance, All Region Band contest, Holiday Concert, UIL Concert and Sight-reading Evaluation, and Spring Concert. We close the year with our band trip to Typhoon Texas Waterpark Austin.
After middle school, we strongly encourage all band students to continue their musical journey by joining the two-time state qualifying marching band, the Lake Belton HS Stampede. The high school band is the most visible of all groups where you can show pride for your school and community.
